Customers Realtions101.

When I first go into any place of business, as a customer, I start with a very simple litmus test. That is, “Do I feel like a Customer?” This is my impression of a firm’s atmosphere and expertise. If a place passes this test, I’ll keep coming back until there’s cause not to. At any place, where I’m the sole customer, the “Skipper/Gilligan” relationship is very clear. When this isn’t understood, I can, and always do, go elsewhere. However, there’s some place’s that I’m a customer by “proxy.” That is, payment and arrangements are made by people in authority over me. Therefore, the free-will of choice can be limited. One of these services is the Food Grade Tank Washing facilities. These are very specialized services with very strict requirements such as, kosher certifications. And, that’s the rub. For, in spite of the third-party payments, I’m the one charged with facilitating that services are correctly rendered. If in-correctly, I have to get involved. However, my Skipper’s hat doesn’t have the same weight, since I’m not paying the bills. That is, some places realize and take advantage of this by trying to establish themselves as our employer (by proxy). Nah ah, that never works. And often, in such business environments, mistakes happen, confrontation happens, and all around makes for an unpleasant place to be.

This is not the case with Totally Tanker Interiors (TTI). Owner, Brain Brady, and his dedicated professionals, get what customer service is all about. I remember my first TTI visit well. I had a rejected tank because of an improper washing procedure at another facility. My boss, who was understandably upset decided to try TTI. They got the wash properly done to the correct specs. I was on my way when, I had to use the restroom. By chance, I met the owner himself who gave me an impromptu tour. I was equally impressed by the amenities. In addition to: a laundry room; Wi-Fi; two desktop PC’s; customer lounge with microwave, coffee, pool table, and vending machines; two showers; there is also official TTI apparel and gear that can be redeemed by a “token” program or you can buy these items directly online. To date I have, three tote bags of various styles and a towel. All bought with accumulated tokens. Note: I’m begging him to get his official TTI mouse pads remade. These are circular in the same style as the logo, real nice.

I enjoy TTI as much as the Skipper enjoyed Mary Anne’s coconut cream pies. The Skipper hat didn’t have to come off once and that makes me happy.

We got in relatively fast and done in a good time. They have a big driver lounge with tv and vending machines if you need an extra snack or drink. The showers are spacious and clean. The best Quala I've been too.

They do need to straighten out their ramps though, they are uneven. I'm just worried one of the tires may go off and it get punctured.

Beautiful lounge for drivers. Showers and bathroom were clean. Laundry on site was free and that is extremely awesome that they offer that service to OTR drivers. ? Tank wash was quick. Just over an hour in and done. Thanks guys.
